Connecting an existing domain

Connecting a domain that is registered with a third-party registrar

To connect an already registered domain to your website or drive on Wfolio, you need to go to Settings → Site address and click on the "I already have a domain" link. In the opened window, enter your domain and click the "Connect" button.

How to connect a domain if you already have one connected

If you registered a domain through Wfolio, you will see the "Change domain" button. Click on it and connect any free .wfolio.pro domain first. If you connected a domain that was registered with another domain registrar, press the "Disable domain" button.

After this is done, click on the "I already have a domain" link and connect your domain.

Then configure the domain at your registrar. This can be done in two ways.

Option №1. Specify Wfolio servers as DNS servers

Change the ns servers of your domain (there should only be two ns servers left):

Option №2. Edit (or add) in the DNS editor A-records

This option can be used if the registrar does not allow changing DNS servers or if your domain uses mail or other services you need.

* — some registrars require you to specify your domain name instead of the «@» symbol, for example example.com. If you cannot enter either the @ symbol or the domain name in this field, leave the field blank.

After changing DNS servers, it can take up to 2 days to update. Your site will start opening with domain name only after changing DNS servers.

Kazakhstan servers

To make your website work on servers in Kazakhstan, make the following domain settings.

You can also connect a domain via A-records. Use this method if the registrar does not allow you to change DNS servers or you want to keep the mail connection for the domain:

Configure a domain with Wix

Go to editing the DNS record of your domain.

1. In the block «A (host)», the value of the field «Address» enter 159.69.249.27 instead of the existing ip-address.

2. In the «CNAME» block, in the first line «Address» enter your domain name without www (for example, mydomian.ru).

3. Just delete the second line in the «CNAME» block.
