# General site settings

## Site name and description <a href="#title-description" id="title-description"></a>

Here you need to fill in the main description of your site for search engines: Site name and Site description.

<figure><img src="/files/V4GQPduhyniyJcuKnTrq" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### Site name <a href="#site-title" id="site-title"></a>

The site name affects the search engine promotion and is displayed in the search engines. You need to write your occupation, what city you work in and your name. The name of the site must start with a capital letter.

**Example:**

> Family and wedding photographer in London Tom Smith

This title contains requests:

> * Wedding photographer.
> * Photographer in London.
> * Wedding photographer in London.
> * Family photographer.
> * Photographer Tom Smith.

Do not forget to include your name and city in the site name, as all requests related to services are geo-dependent. Your site must be related to some region.

### Site description <a href="#site-description" id="site-description"></a>

Write a small text in one or two sentences about your site in the description. Make this text attractive. It will be displayed in search results next to the site name. Looking at it people decide whether or not to visit your site. The description of the site must begin with a capital letter and be written in accordance with all the rules of punctuation and spelling.

**Example:**

> My name is Tom Smith, I am a wedding and family photographer in London. On my website you can find examples of my works and prices.

Do not need to copy the entire site name into the site description, as will be displayed next to the search results.

Please remember that the site name and description must begin with a capital letter. Proper names always begin with a capital letter in all fields. Do not write entire words in capital letters.

## Website footer <a href="#footer" id="footer"></a>

The text is displayed on all pages at the bottom of the site. There you can write your name, occupation, city, phone number, or copyright information.

Сhange it on **Settings → Site settings**.

## Website icon <a href="#site-icon" id="site-icon"></a>

The website icon is displayed in a browser tab next to the page name, in bookmarks (favorites), as well as on pages of search engines.

<figure><img src="/files/Ayr4he3ZfRDePsI8VC2p" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Use a small **square image of at least 512x512px** in the JPEG or PNG format that will be associated with your site. If you don't have an icon yet, you can upload your avatar.

Upload a site icon in the **Settings → Site settings**.

{% hint style="warning" %}
The icon is cached by the browser and it takes a while to update. To see the updated icon, clear the cache or view the site in another browser.
{% endhint %}

### Page indexing settings

Indexing is the process of collecting, analyzing, and adding pages to search engines so they can appear in search results for relevant queries.

Use the **Prevent indexing of hidden pages** option in **Settings → Site settings** to control how hidden pages are indexed.
