# SEO page settings

SEO settings help search engines understand each page’s content. Add a title and description to important pages, including your homepage, services, portfolio, and posts.

***

### Keywords

People search for services using words and phrases. Search engines match these queries with page content.

**A keyword** is a single word from a search query. Examples include “photoshoot,” “photographer,” and “price.”

**A key phrase** describes the service more precisely. Examples include “family photography in Chicago” and “maternity photoshoot in Milan.”

Use phrases that match the page and your specialty. Do not add unrelated words just to attract search traffic.

### Page title

**The title tag** is a page title for search engines. It can appear in search results and browser tabs.

Write the **title** so visitors understand the page immediately. Include the service, genre, location, or another key detail.

**Good examples:**

* “Family Christmas Photoshoot” for a photo album.
* “Studio Photography Prices” for a **Pricing** page.
* “Wedding Photography on Baker Street” for a service page.

#### Recommendations

* Use the key phrase naturally.
* Add specific details, such as location, style, season, or session format.
* Do not add a period at the end of the title.

***

### Page description

**The description tag** briefly explains the page content. Search engines can show this text below the title in search results.

Describe the service or page content in plain language. Include your specialty, location, and visitor benefit.

The recommended length is 150 to 200 characters. This text usually fits in search results.

> My name is Ivan Ivanov. I photograph portraits in Moscow. I help clients choose a studio and create atmospheric portraits.

#### Recommendations

* Write a unique description for every page.
* Do not list keywords without connected text.
* Match the description to the page content.

For example, instead of “affordable photography photographer Moscow,” write: “I photograph weddings in Moscow and Lyubertsy. I can help you choose a location.”

### Editing SEO settings

#### Individual page settings

Open a page and select **Settings → SEO and social media**. Add a title and description for that page.

Use this method for the homepage, services, individual albums, and posts. It lets you match settings to each page’s content.

#### Bulk editing

Open **Settings →** [**Bulk SEO**](https://wfolio.pro/my/settings/seo_items) to add titles and descriptions to several pages.

This method works well during initial website setup. Then review important pages and refine their settings for the content.

### Settings checklist

Before publishing, check these three points:

* The title and description describe this specific page.
* The text includes a clear key phrase.
* The settings are not duplicated on other pages.

SEO settings work with your website content. Add copy, session descriptions, pricing, and information about yourself. This helps visitors and search engines understand your work.
