# Install the Meta Pixel

A pixel is an analytics tool that tracks website visitors. When someone opens a website page, the pixel records the visit and the person’s social media ID. Build an audience from website visitors, then create targeted social media advertising campaigns.

You can connect two pixels: a VK Ads Pixel or a Facebook\* (Meta) Pixel.

{% hint style="info" %}
You can install a pixel even when you do not plan to advertise soon. **The ability to build an audience for a future advertising campaign** can be valuable.
{% endhint %}

### Pixel capabilities

Use the pixel to collect an audience that visited your website or Drive. You can then show this audience relevant social media advertising. Here are several examples:

* **Stay top of mind.**\
  Remind people who visited your website about your work. Advertising to an interested audience is more effective than broad advertising.
* **Reach clients’ friends.**\
  Use **Drive** to deliver photographs. When clients share a gallery link with friends, you can collect those visitors into a separate audience and create special offers.
* **Target visits to specific pages.**\
  Create tailored promotional offers for visitors to specific pages. For example, offer a discount to people who viewed your services page within the last 30 days.
* **Create birthday promotions.**\
  Make a special offer for people who visited your website and have an upcoming birthday.
* **Run retargeting campaigns.**\
  Show relevant ads for specific products and services. For example, someone viewed a preset or video lesson but did not submit a request. You can show them an ad for that offer on social media.
